Speech Recognition


I'm writing my blog today without touching the keyboard.  I just setup speech recognition software on my computer.  I don't have to type, I don't have to worry about hitting the wrong key, I just have to say what I want to say and the software types it for me.  The software is amazing, but more than that I'm excited about being able to write without my hands.  I can say what I want to say, and the words magically appear.  One

            I guess I don't have any excuses anymore.  I can literally write my novel one word at a time.  I can read it out loud from my mind to my mouth…  and my computer writes for me.  So this is my first blog, in which I don't have to use my hands.  And, it's the start of me writing my novel without the limitations of typing.

            The software gets smarter as you use it.  It learns to recognize the lilt and sound of the user's personal voice patterns.  So as you use it, it gets better.  It's a strange thing to talk to the computer, but I'm realizing I could get used to this.
